About This Webinar

Teaching students how to craft ethical and effective arguments is crucial for them to have a healthy participation in civic discourse. At a time where the public sphere is awash in conflicting messages and technological advancements require careful scrutiny of sources, the form of argumentative writing offers a powerful vehicle for instruction. It is only through the careful analysis of information and understanding of the basic principles of argumentative writing that students will be able to participate fully in that public, civic discourse. In this 2024 Share My Lesson Virtual Conference session, educators from Turnitin will demonstrate how teachers  can guide students to gain an appreciation of argumentation with integrity, how to plan and deliver lessons on the topic, and how to inspire students to strive for more powerful argumentative writing.
