How do I upload a lesson?

To watch a video of how to upload a resource, click here! To upload a resource, you must have a Share My Lesson account. Register for free here.

Once you are logged in, click on you user profile image in the top right corner and then hit on UPLOAD A LESSON from the drop-down menu.

STEP ONE: Lesson Overview

Type or paste in the title of your resource.

Type or paste your description in the Description box.

To add a cover image to your lesson, click Select File. Browse your files for the image you want to use, and click Open. Then enter a brief description of the image in the Alternative Text box.

STEP TWO: Lesson Resources

In this section, you will be able to upload a PDF or word document, a web link, and a video for the resource. 

To Upload Files, click Select Files.

Choose your file, click Open.

Select the resource type (assessment, activity, worksheet, etc.) in the Select a Value box. It is very important to identify your resource type as clearly as possible. 

Follow the same process to add additional files. If you need to delete a file, just click the red X next to the file.

To add a web link or video, copy and paste the URL into the Online Resources box and click Add.

Then type a title in the Title box that appears.

You can add additional links by following the same process.

STEP THREE: Educational Categories

You must tag your resource to the grade and subject for it to show up under the correct categories. This is very important for users who are seeking a specific type of resource for a specific grade/subject. Try to be as detailed as possible. 

Select the Grade Level(s) your resource is meant for.

Select the Subject(s) from the drop down menu that your resource covers.

You also have the option to tag your resource to other Topics (mindfulness, back to school, LGBTQ, bullying prevention, etc.)

Then, if applicable, select any of the Lesson Attributes.

STEP FOUR: License and Use

Select which Creative Commons License you would like to publish your resource under. Click on the information icon for descriptions of each of the licenses.

STEP FIVE: Education Standards (Optional)

If you would like, you can add education standards to your resource by clicking the Select Standards button. This will open up a pop-up window where you can select your standards. Once you have selected the standards you want, be sure to scroll to the bottom of the pop-up window and hit Apply.

FINAL STEP: Publish

Scroll to the bottom and Publish.
